Sydney is one of the world's most spectacular cities and the largest in Australia. It is located on the east coast of New South Wales, on the shores of one of the world's most beautiful harbours. Sydney's popularity as a tourist destination is world renowned and it is usually the first port of call for international tourists coming to Australia. The year 2000 Olympic Games were held in Sydney and pronounced "the best Olympic Games ever" at the closing ceremony. Each year, on new year's eve, images of Syney harbour, The Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the spectacular fireworks displays are flashed around the world as part of the celebrations.

To the west is the fantastic scenery of the Blue Mountains, to the north is the wonderful Hunter Valley wineries and the beaches of the Central Coast and Port Stephens and to the south is the city of Wollongong and then on into the scenically superb regions in the south coast.
